With the rapid development of national economy, both of vehicle population and traffic accidents increased considerably. It puts forward the major issues for the vehicle safety. So far, the passive safety technique of the vehicle has already been mature and with the continuous development of the electronic techniques and information techniques, the study requirement of the active safety techniques represented by the active anticollision becomes urgent.The thesis did the research on the Vehicle Safety Automatic Protect System with the active anticollision techniques for the situation.In the theory research period, much of the research material was collected and great effort was spend to study the development direction of the Vehicle Safety Automatic Protect System.The design programme was made. The system dynamics model was developed by the analysis of the automotive dynamics and the system work module was divided into cruise drive and manual drive module. The thesis focused on the research of the auto brake distance and the alarming distance. Under the manual drive module, the auto brake distance was derived by the velocity curves analysis according to the dynamics of the braking process and the moving relationship of the self-car and the front car in different conditions. In the braking distance analysis, the thesis took most of the driver factors into account and chose three of them which were easy to check and read. The driver responding time was analysed by the AHP method. The alarming distance was calculated and adjusted by that. The difference between drivers was illustrated. In the cruise work module, the control precept was developed by the LQ control and the Fuzzy control theory. On the hardware study, the hardware construction was built according to the system function and the relative experiment was carried out.The thesis research on impact factors of the driving safety, especially studied the difference between drivers comprehensively and is with the forward looking in some degree. Much achievement was obtained including several patents. The "Vehicle Safety Automatic Protect System" has already passed the appraisal of the Hunan Science and Technology Bureau and owned all the intellectual property rights of it.
