With the construction of the smart grid is gradually warming up, the continuous development of superhigh (extra-high) voltage power grid, the stability,security and reliable operation of the power grid is regarded highly. The balance of reactive power and over-voltage limit is the central issue.the development and application of new reactive power compensation equipment has become the key technological issue naturely which needs to solve for current power system.It's the background of the birth and development of magnetically saturated controllable reactor. Thanks to simple structure, lower loss,lesser harmonic pollution and suitable for wide voltage levels, the magnetically saturated controllable reactor has important research value that shows strong vitality,The thesis contains the following areas:(1) The current status for the development of reactive power compensation equipment is described, and the reactive power compensation equipment based on magnetically saturated controlled reactor is introduced,then the basic structure and working principle of magnetically saturated controlled reactor is analyzed, the electromagnetic equations is derived based on its 5 working state and the corresponding circuit topology.(2) Equivalent model of magnetically saturated controllable reactor is set up from the electromagnetic equations, a small-capacity single-phase magnetically saturated controllable reactor prototype is designed based on the equivalent physics model of the reactor.(3) The Tabu algorithm is introduced,and then it's applicated to optimal design for magnetically saturated controllable reactor. By choicing optimization variables and parameters, constraint conditions and the constraints function,and the discretization for continuous variables, the reactor optimize design is worked out.The result proves that the cost of the program is lower than the cost of original program obviously.(4) Introducing the concept of equivalent currents, the simple form of electromagnetic equations and the equivalent circuit of magnetically saturated controllable reactor is derived. Using MATLAB/PSB platform,the simulation model for the reactor is built.The operating characteristics including the dynamic performance, control characteristic and harmonic characteristic is researched. (5) Using TI's high performance TMS320F2812DSP 32-bit chip as the core of the control circuit, a control system which control the thyristor trigger is developed.At the same time the value of the reactance changes in order to supply continuous and smooth reactive power compensation.In this paper, the theory and application of magnetically saturated controllable reactor is researched. The results of MATLAB simulation for the reactor show that the magnetically saturated controllable reactor has such advantages as lower harmonic pollution, fast response of reactive power compensation, stepless reactive power output.On the basis of the above,magnetically saturated controllable reactor reactive have a wide range of applications in various industries.
