The coach rollover safety simulation less in China now, especially for the evaluation methods of rollover safety simulation and the body framework safety simulation study has just begun. With the new revised edition of GB/T 17578 "Provisions of strength for the superstructure of bus" is mandatoried to implement, it would substantially reduce the casualty rate of bus rollover accident.According to the basic theory of finite element and vehicle structural crashworthiness features, first of all, a geometric model and finite element model of full-load bus are established, based on ECE R66 regulations the simulation of rollover test was carried out. Because establishment and simulation of the full-load bus take much time and consisting with the bus test of ECE R66, so based on the model established, a body section is established, and its simulation result is verified and showed that the body section can replace the full-load coach. Then, based on the body section, for evaluation methods of a bus rollover safety simulation studied, bringed forward new evaluation methods, the simulation results showed that the evaluation method of residual space penetrating type was a kind of simple and effective method of simulation evaluation. And the body framework influence on the rollover safety was researched by this method and concluded that bracing pieces and brackets to increase, spacing of waist rails to increase, and the rolling-bar body framework can effectively increase the safety of bus rollover. Finally, for a bus in western mountain areas, the geometric model and finite element model was carried out, by the simulation and structural optimization, and ultimately to reach the bus rollover safety regulations.This paper discusses the safety of bus rollover simulation evaluation methods and analysis of body framework on the rollover of the security. It will be with a positive impact on the development of new GB/T 17578 "Provisions of Strength for the Superstructure of Bus ", the bus rollover test data accumulation for the bus production manufacturers and the improvement of body framework safety.
