Since the rapid development of the city and the changes of the land using-pattern have been profoundly affecting the facters of the city's environment where the plants survive, the components of the urban plant species and the distributed patterns have been effected. as an substantial part of the urban ecosystem, the urban wild ground covers have ecological services in the clean-up of the air, the regulation of the climate, the beauty of the townscape importantly. For strengthening the rational use of the wild herbaceous plants, which will help to enhance the stability of the artificial plant communities in the schoolyard's environment, to protect and better the ecosystem of the campus, and to increase the beauty of the college, an attention have been paid to research the application of the wild herbaceous plants extensively, and it's great important to Tsinghua campus, who have proposed the construction of " green campus" firstly, to study the constitutional features, to master the seasonal varying phenomenas, to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the wild herbaceous plants in it.this paper takes the wild herbaceous ground covers of Tsinghua campus for an object of the study, all the year 2009 as the investigate time, twice a month as the investigate frequency, all the Tsinghua campus greenyard as the investigate space, and a basis of rich ground covers as a plot, there are 1055 research plots in the spring, summer and autumn. On all that, firstly, taking a typical plot for example, the rationality of the application of the wild herbaceous is analysised by investigating and drawing the graphic icon of the seasonal changes, demarcating the community of the wild herbaceous ground covers using twinspan, studying and analysising the habitat characteristics of main ass from the structures and the seasonal Landscape changes of the community; secondly, bringing up some rational suggestions to the existed problems in the applications of the wild herbaceous ground covers in Tsinghua campus and summing up several moods which suit the campus.1. Studies show that a total of Tsinghua campus wild herbaceous plants are 110 species, belonging to 37 families,89 genus. Of that ferns are 1 family,1 genus and 1 species, accounting for 0.9%, monocotyledons are 5 families,15 genus and 15 species,13.64% of total species, dicotyledonous plants are 31 families,75 genus and 94 species,85.45% of total species. In the total Performance of the distribution, the overall number of subjects are much more, the generic types are less, the single-species are many. Among them, the wild Herbaceous ground covers (non-embryc nic) are 22 families,48 genus and 54 species in Tsinghua campus in spring, Of all kinds in spring ferns are 1 family,1 genus and 1 species, accounting for 1.85%, monocotyledons are 4 families,4 genus and 4 species,7.4% of total species, dicotyledonous plants are 17 families,42 genus and 49 species,90.75% of total species (grass seedling ecological were smaller, did not enter the expansion phase, not included in the count); the wild Herbaceous ground covers (non-embryonic) are 35 families,78genus and 92 species in Tsinghua campus in summer, Of all kinds in summer ferns are 1 family,1 genus and 1 species, accounting for 1.87%, monocotyledons are 4 families,14 genus and 14 species,15.22% of total species dicotyledonous plants are 30 families,64 genus and 77 species,83.7% of total species; the wild Herbaceous ground covers (non-embryonic) are 15 families,36 genus and 41 species in Tsinghua campus in autumn, Of all kinds in autumn, monocotyledons are 2 families,11 genus and 11 species,26.83% of total species, dicotyledonous plants are 14 families,24 genus and 30 species,73.17% of total species.2. The floras of the wild herbaceous species in Tsinghua campus are composed intricately, including not only the endemic species of China in the Old World tropics, but also the other 13 both species distribution; in addition to the cosmopolitan, the largest two categories are pan-tropical and North Temperate; besides, in the composition of species of flora,20 genera,23 species are tropical; 43 genera,53 species are temperate.3. With Index Margarlef, Index Pielou, Index Simpson and Index Shannon Wiener, the comprehensive index is established by statisticsing and evaluating the wild herbaceous ground covers'species diversity of different seasons in different environments in Tsinghua campus.4. Using twinspan, the characteristics of the group bundle in the different seasons have been summarized by Communiting the partition and providing the application mode from the point of ecological constitute of the wild herbaceous plants in the spring, summer and fall..5. From summarizing the seasonal varying phenomenas of the Ornamental wild herbaceous ground covers in Tsinghua campus, statisticsing the changes of the colors of its'flowers, analysising some problems of its'application, and bringing up some difficulties in the greening conditions, several related solutions and suggestions are raised. And finally, the application modes of landscape construction are summed up which is suit for Tsinghua campus under different circumstances.
