Kinematics and dynamics analysis of mechanism is important for mechanism design. Nowadays, the trends of development in high-speed, lightweight, precision and high-power for modern machinery products are proposed which are called for higher requirements for mechanism design. So kinematics and dynamics analysis of mechanism would be more important. With the development of computer technology, computer-aided design and analysis has become an important means for complex mechanism. Research of computer modeling and analysis methods and development of computer aided analysis and simulation system for complex mechanism have great significance for modern mechanism design and analysis.In this paper, interactive computer modeling method was set up for combined mechanism such as planar linkage, gear, cam, and grooved wheel, according to the composition principle and multi-tree representation of mechanism. In this method, linkage, gear, cam and grooved wheel are used as tree nodes; assembly of the initial state location of combined mechanism is realized by traversal operation of mechanism tree. Then the combined mechanism can be modeled rapidly by setting the dimension parameter and the inertial parameters of the mechanisms corresponding to the mechanism tree nodes. On the base of Kinematic Analysis for combined mechanism expressed by multi-tree, dynamics analysis method of combined mechanism expressed by multi-tree was established by using the dynamics analysis of basic mechanisms as the generalized function of mechanism tree nodes. Then automatic dynamic analysis of combined mechanism can be realized by postorder traversal algorithm of kinematic analysis and preorder traversal of dynamic analysis.By using object-oriented technology, a computer aided combined mechanism dynamic analysis and simulation software was developed based on tree structure. Demonstrations proved that the dynamic analysis method and the software developed by this method can model and analyze combination mechanism quickly and conveniently.
