Slope stability analysis and earth pressure of retaining wall are the two main problems in the calculating of soil mechanics stability,At present there are limit equilibrium and slip-line field etc major methods in the analysis of this sort of problem,However, because limit equilibrium method usually requires a simple hypothetical failure surface and the stress distribution along it, the solution accuracy is difficult to meet. Meanwhile the ignorance of the stress-strain law of soil in the method of slip-line field resulting in a greatly variance with the actual. So the research of limit analysis method in the analysis of slope stability and earth pressure of retaining wall is particularly necessary and of greatly important practical significance.Based on the limit analysis upper bound method & static equilibrium & oblique compartmentalization of the SARMA method of the equivalence , combined with the maximum principle of residual thrust, by using a method of analogous dynamic programming of the shortest route and MATLAB programming calculation, with the optimization of the residual thrust goal, this paper gets the critical minimum safety factor of sliding mechanism and minimum upper-bound solution in the slope with joint or soft surface. In addition, with critical slip field theory , we can get the angle of thrust between the blocks through compartmentalization optimization on the obtained critical slip surface of slope. Then again according to critical slip field theory we obtain the upper-bounder solution of safety-factor. Finally, considering known plasticity conditions, we can avoid establishing a complicated functional balance equation in the process of searching the upper-bound solution of traditional earth pressure on the retaining wall. With the help of MATLAB programming calculation, we obtained the upper-bound solution of passive earth pressure of retaining wall.
