With the rapid development of urbanization, as an important urban infrastructure, construction of rain water pipe network has made significant progress. Because of the high peak flow of storm drainage pipes, so the scale of storm drainage networks more investment is required. Therefore, the optimized design of storm drainage networks will reduce cost and get the best economic performance. Recently, with the development of applied mathematics and computer technology, the optimized design of storm drainage networks becomes feasible. At first, this thesis analyzed the nonlinear characteristics of the object cost function of sewer network and studying the usual methods of optimizing the hydraulic parameters, and the method for the nonlinear parameters estimation by the MATLAB genetic algorithm and direct search toolbox (GADS) is proposed, and it can obtain optimization with its merit of universal and accurate result.Because the best layout of a storm drainage networks is usually tree-shaped, the theory of tree-shaped structure can be applied to storm drainage networks. In succession, on the grounds of analyzing the network characteristic of storm drainage networks, combining with the graph theory and tools, based on the above discussion, then the flow discharge distributing mechanism and the mathematical programming model is offered and the Frank-Wolfe algorithm is selected as the solving algorithm, in order to Ford shortest path algorithm for the choice of the solution process. Thereby, the complete set of solving method is formed. Added to this, the computer program of the sewer system plan optimization is designed by MATLAB, which make the method introduced take on the better practicabilityFinally, this model is verified by its application on engineering project of the Luohe district storm drainage networks and validated method based on graph theory procedures for the preparation of the feasibility. Compare to the traditional design method in economy, the result shows that this method has certain practical value.
