It has been to three public pollution of the power system that is harmonic current, electromagnetic interference and lower power factor. All around the world, people take more and more attention to the pollution of power system. Thus understanding the mechanism of harmonic, researching and eliminating harmonics of power supply system of steel-bar, increasing power factor, improving quality of power supply and ensuring power supply system safe have a very positive significance.In this thesis, combining the engineering features and the engineering practice, the relevant computer control and network communications theory and method are used to the engineering design, the calculation and analysis about power supply system are maked, and the feasible plan of reactive compensation is establisted. By measuring and calculating harmonic background of the power supply system of steel-bar plant, the analysis of power distribution system, calculating the load distribution of the rectifier transformers harmonic currents, we determine rods Wood works reactive power compensation and harmonic governance programme by the system of harmonic analysis. According to the objectives of power factor and the harmonic currents, the compensation capacity and harmonic governance programme are determined and carry out the simulation. Based on analysis of the simulation results, the secondary side of the rectifier transformers harmonic absorption and reactive compensation devices capacity are determined. Steel-bar plant harmonic absorption and reactive power compensation device adopt low-voltage TSC dynamic reactive compensation devices. The devices include controllers which real-time track and measure reactive current and voltage, and comparing with preset value. Then, all the different groups of capacitors can be dynamic controlled. So, power factor always can be to ensure that meet the set requirements. For the problem of TSC space for low-voltage dynamic reactive compensation devices do not work, and 10 kV bus the problem of low power factor, the design of high-pressure monitor cabinet was the ideal for compensation and control result.Up to the present, steel-bar plant production works smoothly, equipment operation stability. We test the distribution system grid parameters of bar for the steel-bar. TSC devices input before and after the measured data show that the effect is prominence for harmonic absorption, reactive power compensation effective. That fully meet the requirement which the work load changement of steel-bar plant from the parameters of change in the power voltage power, reactive power compensation, harmonic parameters of control requirements.
