In a high-order non-linear and highly complex wide-area power system, the primary object is to protect the power system running safely and steadily. But with growing scale of the system and growing range of electrical equipment, there are new problems to the security and stability of system control. Meanwhile because of the uncertainty of power system operation mode and the diversity, randomness, complexity and associated levels of collecting information, the detection and control of power grid state are limited.Therefore this paper proposed a multi-source information fusion technology on acquisition and analysis of power characteristics signal, which is combined with the power detection technology. Main contents include:(1) Studied and classified the detection methods and types of characteristics signal in grid. There are some specific analysis and to determine the detection methods on voltage amplitude, supply voltage deviation, frequency, harmonics, tri-phase unbalance factor, flicker, rapidly changing voltage and so on. (2) On the basis of the classification and study of characteristic signal in grid, to master the basic functions of fusion methods by the analysis of information fusion techniques. Meanwhile this paper have proposed appropriate detection models, the models based on Kalman filter and Expert system, which can be used in the specific detection process.(3) Making the overall design of the hardware system in detection equipments. Doing specific analysis and research on the main circuit and the module circuit, and discussing the schematic or circuit diagram of modules, such as conditioning circuits, communications, LCD, protection, memory, PWM and so on, in which to make components selection and parameters calculation.(4) Use TMS320F2812 and LPC2378 as the core to control program implementation. To determine the software design process, and to make the design of dual-core communication links by hard connection and coordinated control to manage system.
