Many projects of long-distance water transmission have been built to resolve problem of the shortage of urban water resources,But most of them are installed by single or double pipelines,thus,the operation security is important problem in the management.However,the accidents of operation always result from the hydraulic transient including two kinds,hydraulic transient of open channel and pressurized flow. The hydraulic transient is the process between two different stable flows, which is the main reason for the water transmission accident.Then,establishing a stable hydraulic transient is a feasible method to keep the projects safety. Hydraulic transition process is stable when the flow from one state to another stable state, the transition between the two steady state flow. Hydraulic water pipeline in the transition process is the main security issues, only test the water, run the process to establish a smooth hydraulic transition process, to protect the security of water supply pipelines. The most common and most prominent problems is the long-distance water pipeline water hammer problems.(1) Systematic introduction pipe system hydraulic transient calculation of the basic principles of Water hammer briefly described the basic equation, Water hammer calculations to establish the mathematical model(2) On Pump Complete Characteristics curve analysis, forward explored Pump Complete Characteristics curve long distance large region pressure pipeline hydraulic transition process.(3) This paper studies on the water hammer protection, application of different specific speed pump curve fitting using the pump full-featured, calculated in the same conditions, the application of the preparation of water hammer protection for computer language computer program, Water hammer separate calculation, analysis of water hammer 1 hydraulic pressure and pump the transition process in the operating conditions.(4) Actual project, the following conclusions:In the absence of complete information, complete pump characteristic curve, the calculation pressure of long distance and large diameter pipe flow in flat Water hammer the transition process, with a specific speed close to the same type pump instead of the whole characteristic curve characteristic curve using the pump full of water hammer calculation error can be controlled, The results of the actual transition of the project hydraulic water hammer protection measures guiding significance.
