Steel deep beams are horizontal lateral force resisting members. When filled in steel frame,they can overcome the shortcomings which steel.frame and steel frame filled with shear wall have:mutation of the stiffness. By changing width of the deep beam, we could have different resistance to lateral displacement stiffness to meet the requirements of two endpoints and can achieve a wide range of stiffness gradient amplitude modulation. At the same time, by using different steel, thickness, stiffening ribs, we could have different strength, ductility and energy dissipation capacity. To have good initial rigidity and hysteretic behavior, stiffening ribs must be installed. Stiffening ribs can stop buckling of steel deep beam before yielded. When lateral load or seismic force act on Steel deep beams, they are under bending and shearing deformation. They are different from shear walls which are under pure shearing deformation. These features help developing plastic property as well as increasing the ductility and energy-intensive capacity. Steel deep beams are flexible layout and they are easy to the aisle and window layout. They can be used to the new structure also they can be used for structural reinforcement. So they have theoretical research value and broad application foreground.Firstly, analyzing the study actualities about the deep beams around the world, the development and the behavior of steel deep beams are introduced. In this paper, low cyclic loading test method is employed to study on the experiment of two piece of steel deep beams of different depth-width ratio. By analyzing the hysteretic loops, skeleton curve, distribution of stress, deformation behavior,ductility coefficient and the energy dissipation coefficient of each specimen, we can get the influence of different depth-width ratios steel deep beam on hysteretie behaviors.Based on the experimental, using finite element software ANSYS to precisely simulate the work. By comparing with the results of low-cycle loading test, The final results indicate that those two have a better match. So the results from analysis by finite element software ANSYS can be used safely. Then apply the nonlinearity method to analyse series of parameters which can influence the performance of steel deep beams structure system for getting the impact law of depth-width ratio, depth-thickness ratio of the steel plates, the form of stiffening ribs, width-thickness ratio of stiffening ribs, the intensity of steel plates.
