Due to the increase of tunnel's length and quantity, and the increase of density of road traffic, the fatalness of fire in a roadway tunnel were rising gradually. It's known from a number of fire disaster accidents that with the frequent occurrence of tunnel fire have caused enormous social and economic losses. To met the urgent need of fire safety system research for the highway tunnels, this work carried out some correlative application basic researches. These researches would be significant for preventing and stamping on tunnel fire, reducing fire loss and safeguarding people and vehicle, and would offer safety and comfortable environment for road tunnel. Researchers would pay more and more attention to the road tunnel fire issues. On the base of the previous research results, this work designed a subside model experiment according to analogical theory, and chose a suitable calculate fluid dynamics (CFD) mathematical model, to research tunnel fire under three conditions. The three conditions were: when the fire happened in an ordinary tunnel, when the fire happened in a tunnel with flue and when the fire was moving.Firstly, used subside model experiment to research a fire which happens in an ordinary without gradient. In the experiment, different longitudinal ventilations were set to study the distribution of temperature along the longitudinal under the vault of the tunnel.Secondly, on the base of Navier-Stokes equation, used FDS to set up a suitable calculate fluid dynamics mathematical mode to study the distribution of temperature when a fire happened in with flue. In the mode, k-εturbulent model with buoyancy modification, turbulent combustion model and radiation heat transfer model were employed, too. And comparing the results in ordinary tunnel and tunnel with flue, to discuss setting a flue in a tunnel is favorable or not.Thirdly, used both subside model experiment and FDS simulation to research on the condition when the fire is moving, and find out the difference of the temperature distribution from the condition when the fire is immovable.
