Along with the development of power electronic technology and wide application of electronic device in the power system, the harmonic problem becomes more and more serious. Active power filter which overcomes the intrinsic defects of passive filter can compensation harmonic and reactive power dynamically, and it is also the most effective means to improve power quality and a comprehensive management method. However, installing this filter will increase the equipment investment and operating cost. It should be noted that the harmonic voltage and current in the grid itself is also a kind of energy, to establish "green power", and it is best to use electric harmonic, using the harmonic energy to obtain benefits and compensate the relevant equipment economic investment, and make the utilization of energy to maximize simultaneously. It is also a part of green power and circular economy. Thus in this paper it will do some research on harmonic extraction and utilization. In this paper it will introduce some concept about harmonic, some methods as well as research status about harmonic treatment firstly, and it also simply introduces some basic principle and structure of harmonic treatment. It analysis the principle of Fundamental Magnetic Flux Compensation of linear series transformer, and apply it into harmonic isolation and harmonic extraction. The traditional harmonic extracting method is based on the single tuned filter, in this paper it proposed an extracting method which used flux compensation combining with tuned technology by three winding transformer without using fundamental power. At last, use MATLAB6.5 to build the system model and to do simulation research, the simulation results proves the correctness and feasibility of harmonic extraction and utilization.
