In the last 20 years, the research and development of switched reluctance motor (SRM)has made increasing progress at home and broad, Switched Reluctance Drive (SRD) system isa new AC driving system. It has the characteristic of having a simple structure, robustness,low cost, reliability and control flexibility. It has many control methods and can get variety ofmachinery characteristic. In addition it has high efficiency across wide range of speeds whichis superior to other adjustable speed driver system. The position detection technology plays animportant part of SRD system; introduction of position sensor will lower reliability, thusimpacting the overall performance of SRD system. It is therefore very important to researchhow to achieve indirect position detection and improve the detection accuracy for SRDsystems.Firstly, this paper introduces the development process and research direction of the SRmotor and SRD system. With the introducing of the structure and operation principle, thesimple liner model, subsection liner model and the unlined model is researched and studied.Secondly, a SRM indistinct nonlinear model is proposed by putting forward a rotor positionindirectly using the inherent motor information. The paper analyzes noise and error in theprocess of rotor position estimation and researches the optimizing indistinct model, thesituation of start-up and brings forward the precise position estimate method for the twodifferent statuses, especially the method of uniform detection for the single phrase conductionstatue. The simulation result shows that the position estimation method possesses good realtime, strong anti-jamming capability and good robustness. Finally,the SRM angle detectivecircuit and the experimental system are designed with C8051F040 as the core. The paperstudies SRM on the experimental system.
