On this account, China need a large amount of wood.With China’s rapid economic development, construction, decoration and furniture industry demand for high-quality with large diameter timber is increasingly vigorous, The gap between supply and wood requirement increase, resulting in China’s imports of wood is very large. In the past, timber import source always not far away from China, mainly in Southeast Asia, Russia and so on, but with the rapid increase in demand for wood, wood import country extend to Africa, the Americas, Australia, Papua New Guinea. At the same time, more and more wood species are used. Papua New Guinea is one of China’s important source of timber. Some wood species from the PNG which is seldom use, many good timber cannot be applied efficiently.Through the study of PNG export products, we could established a better understanding of the situation and characteristics of China’s imports of wood, and it will help us to use these valuable natural materials efficiently.
