Eggplant Verticillium wilt is one of the most serious disease threat to eggplant production. It is a worldwide soil borne disease, and caused by Verticillium dahlia Kleb, it can dramatically decrease the yield and quality of eggplant. This study extensively collected a lot of eggplant materials (including breeding material, cultivated species, cultivated and wild species, etc.), according to the characters of different sources and materials, selected 255 eggplant germplasm resources to identify the resistance of verticillium wilt. On the other hand,196 markers were used to explore the genetic diversity of selected 255 varieties. In addition, association analysis was carried out between the SSR markers and disease indexes for resistance to Verticillum dahliae Kleb. based on population structure and linkage disequilibrium.The results were showed as follows:(1) Identification of 255 materials disease index of varieties is between 6.7 to 84, the difference on the resistance is obviously. There are 10 species are disease-resistant, disease index of varieties is between 6.7 to 15.36 are moderate resistance, disease index of varieties is between 16.7 to 30.149 species are tolerance to diseases,disease index of varieties is between 31 to 50.50 species are moderate susceptibility, disease index from 52.5 to 67.5.6 species are susceptible, disease index of 71 to 84.4 cultivars vaccination was not successful.36 resistant species are accounting for 14.1% of the total number of 255 materials, among which 4 species are local cultivars.(2) A total of 1028 alleles were detected by 196 markers covered the entire rice genome from all the 255 eggplant samples, with an average of 5.3 per loci, PIC of the range of 0.0385-0.7790, with an average of 0.4088. Primer emx10205 had the highest PIC value and gene diversity value of 0.7824 and 0.7524.(3) Through analysis on the population structure, it could be divided into five subgroups of eggplants.196 loci of the 2940 kinds of pairwise combinations, based on statistical probability (p< 0.001) the imbalance of site pairs of site 1680, account for 57.14% of the total number of loci combination.(4) 15 SSR markers were found to significantly associate with disease indexes for resistance to Verticillum dahliae Kleb. by association analysis based on population structure, account for 7.65% of the total number of 196 SSR markers. Most of them were distributed on linkage group 2,containing 6 pairs.
