Study on the Estimation of Genetic Parameters of the Reproductivity and growth梔evelopment Traits in Yorkshire ABSTRACT Yorkshire (Large White) swine groups of various years in one of Hengyang Swine Farm were investigated in this paper. The method of half梥ib correlation in sire, full梥ib correlation, mixed families and sib analysis within units were take to estimate the heritabilities of reproductivity, growth梔evelopment traits of Yorkshire swine in 1994, 1995, 1996 and 1997. Besides these four methods were compared in this paper. The phenotypic and genetic correlation among reproductivity traits, and those among growth and development traits of Yorkshire swine were estimated by means of the method of half梥ib correlation in sire. The results showed that the heritabilities estimation by four methods for litter size~ number born alive~ litter birth weight~. average birth weight~. litter size at 21d. litter weight at 21d~. average weight at 21d.. litter size at 35d~ litter weight at 35d.. average weight at 35d were from 0.1 to 0.3. The genetic correlations between litter weight at 35d and other reproductivity traits were strongly postive (p
