2000-2001,studies of Lyme disease were carried out in XiLingole disfrict of Inner Mongolia . 1800 ticks were collected from cattle -. sheep and grass. 7. 5%(6/80)ticks contained spirochetes using direct immuno fluorescence examination 2%(2/100) ticks contained spirochetes using darkfield microscope. 1 Strain of Borrelia burgdorferi was isolated from 520 ticks and named Mu1. It can react with monoclonal antibody I~I5332 and H9724, but can not react with H6931, The results Showed that the isolated spirochetes was lyme disease spirochetes . The serum epidemiological investigation using IFA. confirmed that the average infective rates were respecfively 1O%(1/10) and 20%(1/5) in cattle and rats , and were higher than that in residents (7.09%). These results showed that there was Lyme disese in Xilingole district of Inner Mongolia. The pathogenical teot confirmed that Mu1 strain can lead to different pathological change in rats and rabbits...
