According to the new nutrition theory of peptide, the paper studied initially the effects of Hydrolyzed blood-cell protein of sheep (HSBP, contained 16% peptides), Synthesized nutritional peptide (SNP) and Acid denatured plasma protein (DSPP) on the production performance of Broilers and Early-weaning piglets, and finally discussed the role of peptides in feedstuff and the perspective of peptide as a supplement. The results indicated:(1) Fed the diets contained 3% HSBP or DSPP, the broilers have the same growth speed and feed conversion efficiency as the broilers which fed the diet contained fishmeal. The death rate of the broilers of feeding HSBP or DSPP reduced 42.8%, but excessive use of hydrolyzed blood meal would decrease the growth of broilers.(2) Feeding weaning piglets the diets contained 3% HSBP or DSPP and less amount of soybean meal, the feed intake of piglet during early weaning stage (35-45 day age) was improved 13.7% and 15.3%. The body weight gain increased 23.4% and 54.2% (P<0.01), and the feed conversion efficiency was improved 14.7% and 25.3%, respectively. However, during later weaning stage (45-56 day age), the supplementary effects of HSBP and DSPP were not significant (P>0.05).(3) Adding SNP to the maize-hydrolyzed blood meal diets, the body weight gain of broiler during 0-21day age was improved 18.9% (P<0.01). The feed conversion efficiency increased 13.8%. However during the whole experimental period (0-42 d), the body weight gain was only improved 3.3% (P>0.05), and feed conversion efficiency increase 1%.The results implied that, adding a certain amount of peptide may improve the utilization of feed protein when the low-quality plant-proteins are the main protein resources of feed. Thus, this will become a new way of reducing the feed cost.
