Effects of nutrient regulation at heading stage on quality and yield of high-quality edible rice were studied with one early rice variety (Zhongjian-100) and one two-line early hybrid combination (Xiangliangyou-68) and one late rice variety (Zhongxiang-1). By spraying compound nutrient regulators at heading stage, the effects of nutrient regulators on yield and its components, rice grain quality and some physiological characters were measured. The main results are as follows:1. Spraying nutrient regulators at heading stage was helpful for increasing rice yield. The early rice yield of treatment MI, M2, M3, M$ was increased more than 5% over the control for Zhongjian-100, and treatment Mg, MS, Mt was increased 3.3%~5.6% for Xiangliangyou-68. As for the late rice, the yield of treatment Qi, Q2 was increased 4.3% and 5.4% compared with that of the control respectively. The key reason for this is that both the seed setting percent and 1000-grain weight were increased.2. Spraying nutrient regulators had different effects on grain quality characters. In early rice zhongjian-100, formula M2, M4, M6, M8 enhanced the head milled rice rate by 2.4%~ 5.2%, reduced the chalked grains rate by 2.3%~6.7%, and the chalkiness score 1.8%~2.9%. In Xiang-68, formula M2, Mg enhanced the head milled rice rate 1.3%, and formula M6, M8 reduced the chalked grains rate 5.0%~ 7.0%, decreased the chalkiness score 1.9%-3.5%. In late rice(Zhongxiang-1), Qi, Q4 enhanced the head milled rice rate 1.1%~3.2%, but had little effect on chalkiness.3. Spraying nutrient regulators at heading stage was beneficial to enhance the activity of roots and SOD, POX in flag leaves and grains, effectively increase the chlorophyll and soluble sugar content of leaves. It can keep suitable N, P, K contents during the grain filling stage. The results showed that some formulas have obvious effects of delaying the senescence of plant roots and leaves and promoting seed setting. And they were beneficial to the formation of yield and grain quality.4. Among 11 tested compound nutrient regulators, it was preliminary found that formula M6, Mg were the best for early rice and formula Ch for late rice.
