By using the method of the histological routin,the method of the apoptosis of terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick endlabeling (TUNEL) and the method of agarose gel electrophoresis,we studied the histological structure and the apoptosis of germ cell in sheep ovary genesis.When the sheep embryo was on 41d,it can be distinguished female or male in external appearance.The female gonad appears the ovary preliminary characteristics.About 41~48d,the quantity of oogonia grows rapidly and the symplast can be found in this stage.On 52d,Very few of oogonia began go into the leptotene stage of meiosisâ… .On 55d,Very few of syncytia of the oogonia was found in the ovary, the syncytia coexists with the symplast of the oogonia also.On 59d,much of the syncytia of oogonia was found in the ovary cortices.The un-typical primordial follicle was found in the ovary cortices from 59d.The really typical primordial follicle was found in the ovary cortices from 78d.The primary ovarian follicles was found in the ovary cortices,on 110d.The proliferative phase of the oogonium was found in the gestational age between 41d and 84d.But the proliferation cusp appears in the gestational age between 41d and 48d,and a lot of cells undergo apoptosis in ovary genesis.These cells are all oogonia or oocyts.But the cusp of the apoptosis of oogonia or oocyts was found in the gestational age between 55d and 78d mainly,and also the oogonia or oocyts were in the syncytia mainly,about 6 days later than the proliferation cusp appears in the gestational age.
