| Thermo-sensitive male sterile wheat CER119 were studied by means of different sowing date test ,different ratooning date test and photoperiod control test in 2000-2002 .The relations between fetility and meteorological conditions were analysed .The results are as follows:1. The sterility of K-type male sterile wheat K3314A is very stable ,rt belongs to non-sensitive type .But CER119 has evident characteristic of fertility alteration ,it's fertility changes with the temperature of booting stage regularly.2. Temperature is the major cause of fertility alteration in CER119 .It is sterile at lower conditions and fertile at higher conditions .The changes of photoperiod has no significant effect on fertility .3. The thermo-sensitive stage of CER119 is in booting stage ,i. e. from pollen mother cell meiotic phase to single nucleus pollen phase .4. According to the results of different sowing date test and different ratooning date test ,the critical sterile temperature of CER119 is around 18.0 ,and the fertile temperature is above 20.5. The temperature during booting stage is a foundation for fertility expression .Moisture before flowering has the ability to regulate fertility .Lower moisture reduce the seed setting of CER119 greatly .6. The seeds of CER119 multiplied by self-pollination in spring sowing shows sterile completely in the next year while sowed in autumn .It indicated that the thermo-sensitive male sterile characteristic of CER119 can be inherited stably.7. CER119 has higher critical sterile temperature ,so it can produce hybrid seeds safely in more ecological regions .To produce hybrid in Yang Ling ,CER119 shoud be sowed before Oct. 22 .8. In this experiment , when sowed in Mar. 1 the seed setting of CER119 is thehighest .The seed setting percentage increasing while irrigated in booting stage .These results can be used as reference for the multiplication of thermo-sensitive male sterile HneCER119.In sum ,the thermo-sensitive phase ,the influence of photoperiod ,the critical sterile temperature and the major limiting factor for increasing the yield of spring multiplication are confirmed in this research . These results lay a foundation for the application of CER119 to producing hybrid seed .They have certain theoretical and practical significance for the future study of this type of material. |
