Recently, the debate of security about GMO is becoming heated. Some policy and codes have been made to qualitatively and quantitatively detect GMO.Some traditional detection methods such as PCR-gel electrophoresis and PCR-ELISA have many disadvantages such as PCR product contamination and low efficiency. However, the application of real-time PCR technique will overcome the problems above.This paper studied the method of qualitative and quantitative detection of GMO utilizing real-time PCR technique, the result are as followed.1. collecting most of commercialized genetically modified crop and confirming the main aim gene.2. 1 SSrRNA is amplified to detect the quality of the DNA extracted from sample.3. establishing contamination free PCR amplification system by adding UNG enzyme.4. 35S NOS NPTIII Pat, Ear, FMV CryIIIa are amplified to qualitatively detect GMO and establish qualitative amplification system.5. establishing quantitative amplification system of Roundup Ready?soybean and Bt-176 maize.6. 35S, lectin, Pat and Cryllla were cloned to be positive control.The qualitative and quantitative detection method of GMO is established for the first time in China. Now the kit for this method has been produced. This technique will replace the traditional detection method and become the main technique of GMO detection.
