| Avian Encephamyelitis (AE) ,which is also called Epidemic Tremor , characterized by nonsuppurative encephamyelitis ,is caused by avian encephalomyelitis virus and has a sign of decreasing egg production.in adult chickens and decreasing hatching rate in fertilized eggs and has 40%-60% of incidence and 25% of mortality.In this research, one-day-old SPF chickens were inoculated via intracephalic injection at a dose of 0.03 ml, consisting of l:100(w/v) tissue virus suspension, per chicken. 4 of experimental group and 2 of control group were killed at 1 .3. 5. 10 .14 .25 and 30 days post injection and separated the serum. Meanwhile, pathological changes of lymphocytes and changing role of IgM, IgG from different days old chickens infected with AEV-NH937 were systematically studied by viral inoculation of animal, pathological test and ELISA.Results showed that IgM, after 3 days of inoculation, reached to the highest level (0.57mg/ml) , which indicated some of the plasma cells have produced IgM. IgG after the 10 day of inoculation, had a trend of increasing and reached to the highest level at 20 th day(5.05 mg/ml). It indicated that IgM, the immune globulin produced from the earlier reaction, play active role against the AEV-NH937 strain infection at the beginning of the disease. Synthesis of IgM was restrained after IgG was produced, because IgM antibodies were producld first in an immune response against AEV followed by a switch to IgG class. When artificially and naturally infected, antibody produced is mainly IgG, which with high content and long endurence. IgG has multiactivities of antibacterial, antivirus, antiexotoxin and so on. It was proved that humoral immunity play important role against the AEV-NH937 strain infection at the beginning of the disease.
