Network teaching is a new study field, which has integrated the network technology, pedagogy and information science into the system of Computer Assistant Instruction (CAI). As the product of the rapid development of network technology, it is an active and open teaching method that enables the users to share educational resources from a long distance and in large areas. It will bring about a revolution in education, because it can satisfy the different requests from learners of various levels. It is also the objective of the pursuit to fully customized intelligent education. To solve the problems in the development of network courseware, a study to establish a new courseware was conducted to explore the application of the modern teaching method-Computer Assistant Instruction (CAI) -in the education of Crop Disease Control with the awareness of current situations of this subject teaching. In this courseware, a object-orientated design conception was fully embodied, and some other information gleaning and editing techniques were organically adopted. It included administration system, online test system, trouble-shooting guideIIsystem, web-based education, and information in plant protection. Some technical features of this courseware are as follows: it was constructed basing on the ASP.net system in the mode of XML, and was edited in VB.net computer language. When these were done, it was linked to Microsoft Access database via the data interface of ADO.net, through which administrator can manage the background database. It enhanced the consultative function by introducing the Agricultural Expert System into network courseware.
