Dendrolimus superans and Phassus excrescens are two kinds of destructive pests of larch and Fraxinus mandshurica at Northeast region. This paper reviewed the destruction, host, damage degree, biological character, natural enemies and controlling status of Dendrolimus superans and Phassus excrescens in the world. The integrated controlling techniques such as chemical ecology techniques and unharmful chemical insecticides techniques have been studied. Studies showed that larchen branches and leaves volatile elements were changed largely because of Dendrolimus superans' harm and the relative quantities of volatile elements were varied after spraying volatiles 1% oil of turpentine and 1 % camphor . The changement has the repellent effect on Dendrolimus superans and it is very similar to the branches and leaves which were harmed by Dendrolimus superans. There were six kinds of volatiles have been used to make an experiment with Dendrolimus superans in forest. 1% camphor and 1% oil of turpentine were the most effective ones among those repellent compounds, the repellence rates of which were 83.33% and 66.7% respectively. There were 8 kinds of insect growth regulators have been used to make an experiment with Dendrolimus superans in laboratory. The experimental effect of diluted SOOtimes of 20% Imidacloprid concentrate emulsion was best. The experimental effect was 86%. l%oil of clove, l%vanilla aldehyde, l%camphor, l%oil of turpentine and 12.94% garlic juice etc have been used to try a repellent experiment on Phassus excrescens in laboratory. 1 %oil of turpentine and 12.94%garlic juice were the most effective among those repellent elements. The repellent rates of which were 81.82% and 75.00% respectively.
