| Studies on the stress effects of plants on physical stimulation are a cardinal direction in plant biomechanics. The macroscopical and microscopical biological effects of plant on sound field stimulation have also become the focus in this research field because of important significance in breeding quality varieties ,promoting plant adaptability to outer varied environments and realizing the new technologies of high efficient agriculture, whereas all these studies are quite complicated. If we wonder the effects of sound field stimulation on the growth and development of plant cells varying from the structure, function to themselves, quality, we not only have to do large numbers of experiments, but also research new experimental apparatus specially and improve the experimental means.It is the main intention of this study to manufacture the apparatus for sound enhancing plant growth and research the sound effects of Paddy Rice seeds on the germination rate, germination index, height of stem, increase rate of fresh weight, rooting ability, activity of root system and the penetrability of cell membrane, which was proceeded in the light of basic theories and research means of acoustic, circuitry, SCM, electromotor, biomechanics, plant physiology, etc.We made use of some chips in the circuit of the apparatus and SCM 89C51 was the core of the control module. The intensity and frequency of sound field could be displaying, moreover, the stimulation modes that could be chosen were diversiform. The apparatus had many merits such as briefness of operation and control, convenience of maintenance, stated automatic degree, and so on. Our results revealed the effects of Paddy Rice seeds on sound field stimulation are dual, namely, enhancing and inhabiting action. With the intensity and frequency increasing, height of stem, increase rate of fresh weight, rooting ability and activity of root system increased, however, these indexes began to decrease when the intensity and frequency went beyond the limit of 106dB and 400Hz respectively. As for the penetrability of cell membrane, its changing tendency was reverse to above indexes. No apparent promotive effects on the germination rate and germination index was thought that was due to chosen full Paddy Rice seeds from same batch. As a result, we drown a conclusion that 106dB and 400Hz were the optimum intensity and frequency for Paddy Rice seeds, i.e., sound field stimulation can remarkably enhance the growthand development of Paddy Rice seeds obviously under the conditions. We considered sound field which have a certain intensity and frequency could impact the cell periods that conduce cell multiplication speed faster, repair cell plasma membrane which have been damaged in disadvantageous habitats that result in lowering the permeability to improve plant ability of adversity resistance, promote the activity of root system that which is related to the intensity of Ca2+, the cellular second messenger.The study not only validates sound field stimulation can certainly promote the growth of plant, but also indicates the practicability of the apparatus. The tendency of researching the relation of stresses and growth will keep up by combining several subjects. The essential mechanism of biological effects of sound field stimulation need further research. |
