The spatial database (SDB ) is a foundation of GIS, with the deepening that is used, the traditional form of design of storehouse of spatial data has already begun to be difficult to meet demands of real work. Under the background of the technical development of the computer , adopt the design method facing target to carry on the design of the spatial database , have already begun gradual becoming the focus studied with the method of the large-scale and commercial memory spatial data of Data Base Management System (DBMS).The paper is under Oracle, the one of the commercial Object-Relational Database Management System (ORDBMS), through carrying on the research and realization of a certain degree on the space database structure and content design method in facing the target, and utilize carrying on certain expansion application in the professional direction in the land, it can be to offering certain thinking and solution for the fact that the foundation adopts the method that the model of data facing target carries on the design of storehouse of the spatial data with ORDBMS that in the hope of.To the design of the whole structure of the spatial database, the Object-Oriented Design (OOA) method has been used in the paper. Through some analysis that operate basically in SDB, it can meet Object-Relational structure , relation of model to become space data design of storehouse, express the space surface feature , the memory space data by way of target's relation type in the form of target, because of face target expansibility , method of height, such a model can convenient to expand to on other specialities use.During the process of designing to various kinds of targets in detail, the geometry objects were to be designed and realized to general GIS in the paper. Meanwhile, require characteristic of data by database according to GIS to space, one nested tree type that Terrain Object Set (TOS) structure carry on method of encapsulation to space datum was put forward and utilized specialized some demand according to land in the paper. And, some expansion nature designs and realize the method that the surface feature is collected.Based on Oracle, TOS in place with Minimum Bounding Rectangle (MBR) were stored and become attribute that the surface feature is collected by way of its Spatial in the paper. For adopting R-Tree that Oracle Spatial offers and set up the index and collect index on the space position to the TOS, this kind of method is simpler in design, and its index result is belter.The result of benchmarks indicated that the Spatial Database based on Terrain Object Set was advantaged, especially in response time of common data requested in Spatial Database.
