Based on the concept framework and basic property of farmland ecosystem that has been discussed, this paper try to find the suitable parameter which can synthetically assess farmland health. Selected four classical villages form Hebei province Luancheng county, and assessed their farmland ecosystem health. The main results of this paper can be showed as follow.1.Farmland ecosystem is a typical man-made ecosystem, and a healthy farmland requires a scientific management, rational structure, environment-friendly, high productivity and high sustainability, as well as the integration of nature's material and energy cycling, supply of healthy, safe, high quality and various food source to human society, and correct and effective service functioning.2.The farmland ecosystem health assessment is assessed with integrated measures, with macroscopic and microscopic studies based on the designed management objectives. The eco-environment factors, social economy factors and human health factors should be considered when we choose the parameter.3.With Analytical Hierarchy Process, the present study regarded the assessment aim as the realization of sustainable, healthy and high efficient farmland ecosystem, and established a set of parameter for farmland ecosystem health assessment, including structural parameter, environmental parameter, productive parameter, sustained parameter and management parameter. Moreover, applying the international criteria and widely accepted methods, the standard classification of indicator system was given in this paper.4.Farmland landscape pattern has a important impact on farmland structural character. To some extent, the environmental character of assessed farmland ecosystem health has been decided by .heavy metals in cultivated soil, water quality and pesticides residue. The maintain mechanism of farmland ecosystem is substituted by artificial factors, and it also enhances farmland resistant ability and productivity ability. Management factor has decisive effect on intensive farmland ecosystem health.
