For there are some problems, such as high-cost and fussy-planting in Heilonggang area, Hebei province, the model of cotton cultured with monopodium which reduces the labor, decreases the cost, and increases the yield and the benefit of cotton planting greatly solves these problems. As to these, the experiments studied the mechanisms of yield increasing of the model and development of boll weight of monopodium in the field, to provide the theory foundation for cotton planting in the local area. The cotton variety is Siguangmian, and treatment is cotton retaining monopodium and cotton removing monopodium is the check (CK). The contents are followed below:1. The yield of cotton retaining monopodium is 19.2% more than cotton moving monopodium, the boll number, 23.5% more. There is no obvious difference in boll weight and lint percentage of cotton between retaining and removing monopodium. The boll number of monopodium is 23.5% of cotton retaining monopodium. There is no obvious difference of fiber quality between stem of cotton retaining and removing monopodium. Monopodial lint fiber is thinner than stem's as micronaire of its fiber is lower than that of stem, but other fiber characters are not as good as stem's.2. Dry weight of cotton retaining monopodium is 17.3%-38.4% more than that of cotton moving monopodium, and the dry weight of monopodium is 17.1%-39.1% of that of cotton retaining monopodium and the leaf area is 23.8%-45.8%. The dry weight and leaf area of stem of cotton retaining monopodium are more than that of cotton removing monopodium. So, we say, monopodium restrains the growth of stem, but, on the other hand, its compensatory functions are much more than its restraint.3. Root activity of cotton retaining monopodium is more active than that of cotton moving monopodium, and NPK capacity in root is more than that in root of cotton removing monopodium. Monopodium increases dry weight of cotton retaining monopodium, which promote root growing. As far as the comparisons of Above/Root and Reproduction/Root between cotton retaining and removing monopodium, root of cotton retaining monopodium is not overloading.4. No difference is tested in boll weight between the stem of cotton retaining and removing monopodium, but difference is obvious that monopodial boll weight is 8.4% less than stem's. Number of seed of monopodial boll is 12.3% less than stem's, and seed index, 7.4% less. Dry weight of boll shell and seed cotton of monopodium are both lower than those of stem, for the reason of the velocity of dry weight accumulation of monopodium boll is lower than that of stem. Soluble sugar and sucrose contents in monopodial boll shell, seed and fiber is more than those of stem's. Acid intervase content in monopodium is less than that of stem's. So the activity of monopodial boll is less than that in stem, which is the reason of monopodial boil weight being lower than stem's.5. Chlorophyll content in stem leaf of cotton retaining monopodium is more than that of removing monopodium. In later season of cotton, chlorophyll content in fruit leaf of stem and monopodium of cotton retaining monopodium is more than that of fruit leaf of cotton removing monopodium. So, cotton retaining monopodium may be later to senesce. R/V of cotton retaining monopodium is lower than that of cotton removing monopodium, and C/N in stem and root of cotton retaining monopodium is higher than that of cotton removing monopodium, which is said that cotton with monopodium is probably not overgrowing. Soluble sugar content in monopodial leaf is less than that in stem's, and monopodium has a stream of assimilation to stem for the lower capacity of monopodial boll-sink. Nitrogen content in monopodial leaf is less than that in stem's, which is said that monopodium will not be late ripening.
