A survey for plant parasitic nematodes was conducted around the rhizosohere of soybean, vegetable and sweetpotato in 2003 in Hebei Privince, China. The following nematode genera and species were found: Heterodera glycines, Meloidogyne incognita, Ditylenchus destructor, Pratylenchus scribneri, P. brachyurus, P. loosi,Tylenchorhynchus agri, T. vulgaris, Aphelenchus spp., Aphelenchoides spp., Paraphelenchus spp., Helicotylenchus spp., Scutellonema spp., Miculenchus spp., Tylenchus spp., Filenchus spp., Lelenchus spp., Malenchus spp., Merlinius spp..T. agri was found in soybean and vegetable field; Scutellonema spp. and P. brachyurus were found in soybean and sweetpotato field; H. glycines was found in soybean field; In vegetable field, there were M. incognita and Malenchus spp.; In sweetpotato field, there were Ditylenchus destructor, Merlinius spp.. The other nematodes were all found in soybean, vegetable and sweetpatato field. In soybean samples, Heterodera glycines, Aphelenchus spp., Helicotylenchus spp. were more than the others, and the occurring was 73.93%,61.54%, 53.58% respectively. The frequencies level of Heterodera glycines larvas population was 70 in per 100g of soil. In vegetable samples, Aphelenchus spp., Filenchus spp., Paraphelenchus spp. and Helicotylenchus spp. were more than the others, and the occurring were 58.57%, 47.37%, 26.32%, 26.32% respectively. The frequencies level of Meloidogyne incognita larvas population was 95 in per 100g of soil. In sweetpotato samples, Aphelenchus spp., Scutellonema spp., Merlinius spp. were more than the others, and the occurring were 91.67 %, 41.67%, 33.33% respectively. D. destructor population levels were 13 in per 100g of soil.Sixty-five soil samples were collected from rizhosphere of soybean in Xingtai, Handan, Baoding, Shijiazhuang, Qinghuangdao, Tangshan and Zhangjiakou, Hebei province, China. The molecular diagnosis method was used to identify the cysts and juveniles of soybean cyst nematode with species specific primer (GlyFl) of duplex PCR and all those cysts found on soybean root in Hebei were identified as Heterodera glycines. Cysts and juveniles of soybean cyst nematode were found in Yongnian, Cixian, Fengfeng, Nanhe, Guangzong, Qinghe, Nandayuan, Ximachi, Wangdu, Dingzhou, Luancheng, Luquan, Jiaoqu, Pingshan, Funing, Changli, Qianxi, Qianan, Fengrun and Zhangjiakou; but the cysts and juveniles of soybean cyst nematode were not found in Lulong and Luanxian county samples.
