(1 )The quadrat surveys on forestry community have been made in Phoebe chekiangensis distribution region of JiuXi and YunQi. The quantitative analysis on population classification and bio-diversity analysis on different communities suggest that P. chekiangensis community has a low bio-diversity compared with others in the middle subtropical vegetation zone; and the dominant species play a prominent role in their communities.(2) Studies on dominant population structure of the P. chekiangensis community show that population structures of P. chekiangensis and Schima superba take a rising pyramid shape. While the population structures of Cyclobalanopsis glauca is inclined to keep stable. Castanopsis schottky and Liquidambarformosana take a declining shape. Such competition and substitution phenomenon indicate that the P. chekiangensis community is on the way of succession .Evergreen broad-leaved forest with P. chekiangensis, C. glauca and 5. superba as the dominant species would be the climax community in this area.(3 ) A research is made on the main dominant species in JiuXi and YunQi, utilizing niche width and reduplication formulas, and the relations, adaptability and competition of dominant population in community is discussed. In the end acknowledgement is deepened on the population structure form, community stability and organization level of P. chekiangensis as well.(4) On the basis of life table and survival analysis theory, quantitative statistics, survival curve about the imminent extinction rare P. chekiangensis population are made, which prove that the P. chekiangensis population is increasing whose death peak occurs in transition period from seedlings to young trees, and its survival curve is similar to the Deerey II type.(5 ) Surveys show that although there are a great many P. chekiangensis seedlings under forest, most of them suffering from internal competition and sunlight stress as a result, most of the seedlings disappear before they grow up. So living space and light are the main restrictive factors for the seedlings under forest of P. chekiangensis. The endangered principle is discussed and protective proposal is posed also.(6) P. chekiangensis has been introduced and cultivated in NanJing Forestry University for three years. The records show that P. chekiangensis has a strong adaptability and it can adapt to the climate and soil in north subtropics areas such as southern Jiangsu province. Experiments also proved the possibility of its cutting.
