The study adopted plot experiment to observe the physical and chemical characteristics, ecological and economical benefits of wetland rice-duck-loach complex ecosystem .It aimed at offering scientific basic for the function of rice-duck-loach complex ecosystem, providing a new way for the multi-development of the rice-duck-loach model, and affording definite theoretical foundation for the agricultural sustainable development in the 21st century.Study contents of this experiment includes: (1) The influence of raising duck and loach in paddy fields on soil physical characteristics. (2) The influence of raising duck and loach in paddy fields on soil chemical characteristics. (3) The study on ecological, economical and social benefits of rice-duck-loach complex ecosystem. Main results for this study are as follows:1. The study on soil physical characteristics of rice-duck-loach complex ecosystem. The results showed that, compared with CK: Soil bulk density decreased 0.024 g/cm3, F=5.15, the difference reached significant level. The > 0.25mm soil aggregate increased 3.37%, F=10.97, the difference reached extreme significant level. < 0.001mm soil micro-aggregate decreased 0.27%, Meanwhile, the structure coefficient increased 2.53%. This showed that the moving of loach and duck, especially, the digging of loach, made the physical and chemical characteristics of paddy soil better.2. The study on soil chemical characteristics of rice-duck-loach complex ecosystem.Comparing with CK, the result showed: organic matter, increased 0.12g/kg, F=5.83, the difference reached significant level; total N, increased0.06g/kg, F=6.27, the difference reached significant level, available N, 5.29mg/kg, F=5.19, the difference reached significant level; available P increased 1.08mg/kg; available K increased 19.01mg/kg, F=11.92, the difference reached significant level; And their increased amplitudes are 0.35%, 3.3%, 5.1%, 4.23% ,16.72% respectively. Relatively, the increase of available K was more evident than that of available N and P.3.The study on benefits of rice-duck-loach complex ecosystem. Comparing with rice monoculture, the net income of rice-duck-loach complex ecosystem increased 19567.50yuan/hm2, this indicated that the economical benefit was very obvious. The moving of duck and loach not only reduced the growing of weed, disease and insect, but also lightened environmental pressure because of not using pesticide, herbicide. So ecological benefit was notable. As products, the ecological rice, ecological duck, ecological egg, ecological loach are not polluted, this meets people's needs to "green product", and has huge social benefit. From above results, we could see that the rice-duck-loach complex ecosystem can improve the paddy soils physical and chemical characteristics, enhance the overall benefits of paddy field system. It is the inheritance, innovation and development to traditional breeding technology. It exerts extremely producing function, breeding function, ecological function of paddy field, and makes rice producing from relying on mainly chemical fertilizer, pesticide, herbicide to field' s integrated function. So raising duck and loach in paddy fields is integrated utilization pattern with high economical, ecological and social benefits.
