Using improved scrape-making method,experiments were carried out to study the changes of rice stomatal density,stomatal lengh and stomatal width,and the relationships among stomatal characters,net photosynthetic rate,transpiration rate,stomatal conductivity and so on.under NaCl stress and water stress.The ultimate purpose of the study was to discuss the status of stomatal characters in rice breeding for high yield and cultivating for stress resistance.The following results were obtained:1 Using akihikari and liaoyanl as materials, NaCl stress of four leveles were set as treatments CK,LSS,MSS and CSS.The results showed that stomatal density of the two varieties increased under NaCl stress,and the change of liaoyan2 was more significant than that of akihikari.The result of analysis of varience showed that the varience among different treatments were signigicant.Multi-comparision showed that the varience of CSS and MSS,LSS and MSS, CK and MSS were staving significantly.This showed that the effects of different level salt stress on stomatal density were different ,and there were significant varience.Stomatal length of the two varieties were all increased firstly ,then decreased under salt stress.The stomatal length of liaoyan2 were improved under the treatments of LSS and MSS.But CSS had a crucial effect on stomatal length of liaoyan2 and made it decreased significantly.LSS had a positive effect on the stomatal length of akihikari.The different changes of the two varieties showed the difference of stress resistance.The tendency of the changes of the stomatal width of the two varieties weredifferent under salt stress.The stomatal width of liaoyan2 increased under the stress treatments of LSS and MSS.CSS had a negative effect on the stomatal width of liaoyanl.LSS had a crucial effect on the stomatal width of akihikari ,but the stomatal width increased under the treatment of MSS.The result of analysis of varience of stomatal length and stomatal width showed that there were no significant varience among different treatments and the varience between varieties was not significant yet.This showed that stomatal density was more sensitive to salt stress than stomatal length and stomatal width.The stomatal density of liaoyan2 had a significantly negative correlation with leaf area ,and this showed that the increase of stomatal density under salt treatments were affected by the change of leaf area.The stomatal density had a significantly positive correlation with net photosynthetic rate .The stomatal conductivity of liaoyan2 had a significantly positive correlation with transpiration rate,and had a significant negative correlation with saturated water vapor pressure difference. The stomatal density of akihikari had a significantly negative correlation with leaf area .Stomatal conductivity of akihikari had a significantly positive correlation with transpiration rate and net photosynthetic rate.2 Using akihikari and han72 as material.drought stress of six levels were set as treatments CK,HT,LDS,MDS,CDS and EDS.The results showed that stomatal density of the two varieties increased under drought stress.But the tendency turned to the contrary under the treatments of CDS and EDS.This was to say CDS and EDS had crucial effect on stomatal density. The stomatal density of the two varieties reached to the maximam under the treatment of MDS.The result of analysis of varience of stomatal density showed that the varience of varieties reached to a significant level.and the variences among differenttreatments were staving signigicantly.Multi-comparision of average stomatal showed that the variences between treatments were significant ,except CDS and EDS.This showed that different drought stress had significant effect on stomatal density.The tendency of stomatal length of the two varieties was different under drought stress.The stomatal length of the two varieties was similar under normal water supply.But the change curve of han72 just like a "W",and the change curve of akihikari like a "Z".Stomatal width of han72 increased fi...
