We conducted the experiments to study the blood indices and immunity function of Yellow catfish after different starvation treatment and recovery feeding under the controllable enviroment indoor, to study the effect on metabolism function of Yellow catfish through the investigation of hematological and biochemical indices, and to study the effect on immunity function of Yellow catfish through the investigation of the weight of immunity organs, immunity cells,and the humorol immunity factors.The tested fish weighs 110-150g, feeded under the condition of 22 ±2℃, and were divided into 6 experiment groups which were deprived of food for 0d(control), 6d, 12d, 18d, 24d, 30 d respectively.and then refeeded 18 days. The results show:During the stavation, the significant effect on hematological indices was observed. The quantity of red blood cell dropped significantly after derived of food for 12 days(P<0.05). The hemoglobin increased slightly when they were deprived of food 6 days. But it is not significant compared with the control groups. Then drop significantly follwing the prolonging of the stavation.When the Yellow catfish were deprived of food for 12days, The quantity of white blood cell and the osmosis brittleness of red blood cell increased significantly.Aftert the experiment of starvation , the significant effect on biochemical composition in serum and the activities of important emyzes in the serum were observed. The normal plasma glucose is 7.84 mmlo/1 .When the Yellow catfish deprived of food for 6 days ,the plasma glucose dropped significantly to 6.25mmol/l. Plasma glueose remainedunchangeable when starvation continues. The concentration of total protein, globulin is is lower in 6d than in Od. But the total protein and the globulin drop is not significant. The albumin, cholesterol and trylyceride increased slightly. And it is not significant (P<0.05). The total protein, trylyceride and cholesterol dropped significantly compared with 0d(P<0.05). The albumin and the globulin is lower than 0d group. But the difference is not significant. The total protein, trylyceride cholesterol albumin and the globuline of yellow catfish in the 18d, 24d, 30d is significant lower than 0d group.The starvation affected on the transaminase and the phosphatase. The activities of enzymes GOT and the enzymes GPT didn't chang significantly, so we can observed the heart and lever is not obstructed .The activities of acid phosphatase always dropped because of the decreasement of metabolism level and the 6d group did not drop significantly during the starvation.The activities of alkaline phosphatase in the serum of Yellow catfish increased within the period of starvation for 6-12 days.Then dropped during the period of starvation for 18-30 days.When the Yellow catfish is deprived of food, the weight of immune organs(head kidney and speen) drop following the prolonging of starvation days beacause of the effect of body weight. We can not estimate the effect from the aspect of quantity.The quantity of NBT-positive cells of 6 d group is lower than controlled group.But the change was not significant.When the Yellow catfish were deprived of food for 12-30 days.The quantity of NBT-positive cells drop significantly.The factors of humorol immunity of yellow catfish had changed during the period of starvation treatment.The lysozyme activities of Yellow catfish, hemolysis in the serum and the antibacterial activities drop continuously following the prolonging of starvation time. But compared with Od group, 6days, 12days' group the change is not significant. The drop of 18d,24d,30d group is significant compared with controlled group.The activities of superoxide dismutase in the Yellow catfish's serum dropped when the Yellow catfish were deprived of food. But the drops were not significant in the 6-24days and the SOD activities dropped significantly in the 24-30days. So the immunity function can not be effected when starve for a short period(6d) . But it drops when starve for a long time(12d-30d).After refeeding for 18 d...
