Waterfront landscape is a kind of special linear landscape,it forms one of the main constitution elements of urban impression,and possesses great scenic aesthetics value. Riparian plant landscape is one of the important components in waterfront landscape. So, emphasizing fully and constructing riparian plant landscape will help to change and promote urban image,and strengthen the identification of area and city.Based on a large quantity of correlative data ,and fact-investigation ,this article offerred the idea of riparian plant, summarized the research ways of waterlogging resistance and application current situation of riparian plant,and analyzed application current situation of riparian plant in Chengdu.lt showed: (1) Riparian plant disposal started later,but developed quicker.(2)The species of riparian plant were unitary.(3)The species of local riparian plant were little.(4) Riparian plant community was monotonous.(5)Cultivation technology and species were selected by experience. This experiment adopted the ways of observation and growth increment measurement.For one thing,the observation outcomes of riparian plant in Huanhuaxi Park and Among Planting Base were recorded.For another,27 selected species in Huanhuaxi Park were measured in growth increments of new top and leaf under different soil moisture.Thus the waterlogging resistance of riparian plant was studied.The results indicated:(1) The riparian plant's waterlogging time was different because of the difference of species.(2) With the increase of tree age, the waterlogging time and exist rate had an increasing tendency for the arbor in the riparian plant.(3) The riparian plant's waterlogging resistance had a relation with cultivation skill.(4) The tested species's waterlogging resistance were put in order:The tested ardor species's waterlogging resistance were put in order: Podocarpus macrophyllus> Metasequoia glyptostroboides=Eucalyptus maidenii=Salix babylonica= Acer palmarum var. atropurpureum> Cassia bicapularis= Hibiscus mutabilis> Photinia davidsoniae= Prunus cerasifera var. atropurpureum; The tested shrub species's waterlogging resistance were put in order: Pyracantha fortuneana= Debregeasia edulis= Gardenia jasminoides= Jasminum nudiflorum> Rhododendron simsii=Cassia bicapularis=Chaenomeles specios> Camellia japonica= Callistemon rigidus; Thetested herbaceous plant species's waterlogging resistance were put in order: Calla paiustris= Cypervs altermfolius= Phragmites communis= Acorus clammus> Arundo donax= Hedychium coronarium = Hemerocallis citrina>Bambusa multiplex var: nana= Aspidistra elatior.(5) The riparian plant's waterlogging resistance standard:A. Poor waterlogging resistance type: The percent of soil water content was 15~25%,and the plants were not submerged.The mark was "0". B. Middle waterloggling resistance type: The percent of soil water content was 25~-40%,and the plants were not submerged.The mark was "1". C. High waterlogging resistance type: Some can endure saturate soil,the percent of soil water content was 40~60%,and live in the water during the shorter time(less than two months).The mark was "2".These species was planted aptly in the waterside.and live in the water during the shorter time in the change of the water level. D. Skyscraping waterlogging resistance type: Some can endure saturate soil,the percent of soil water content was 40~60%,and live in the water during the longer time(more than two months).The mark was "3".These species was planted aptly in the waterside,and live in the water during the longer time in the change of the water level.(6) The waterlogging resistance of tested species.Photinia davidsoniae,Cassia surattensis.Hibiscus mutabilis,Metasequoia glyptostroboides,Eucalyptus maidenii,Podocarpus macrophyllus,Acer palmarum var. atropurpureum,Prunus cerasifera var. atropureumjasminum nudiflorum,Chaenomeles specios,Rhododendron simsii,Pyracantha fortuneana,Cassia bicapularis,Debregeasia edulis,Gardenia jasminoides,Arundo donax,Bambusa multiplex var.nana demanded the stand...
