Effects of the different rapeseed meal levels (0.0%, 10.0%, 20.0%, 30.0%, 40.0%, 50.0%) on growth, feed utilization, blood biochemical indices, toxins remnant, fish body biochemical and liver pathology of the grass carp(Ctenoparyngodon idellus), respectively 5.0g(fingerling) and 18.7g(juvenile) were studied. The results were as follows:1. The levels of rapeseed meal had nosignificant effects on feeding rate and survival in grass carp of tow sizes (p>0.05) .With the increasing of the rapeseed meal levels , the weight gain rate(WG),specific growth rate(SGR),feed conversion efficiency (FCE), protein efficiency rate(PER) and protein conersion efficiency(PCE) were decreased, but at 30.0% rapeseed meal were significantly higher with these indices than 40.0% and 50.0%(p<0.05), no significant difference with 0.0%, 10.0%, 20.0% (p>0.05).2. With the increasing of the different rapeseed meal levels ,the serum glutamic-oxalacetic transaminase(GOT)/glutamic-pyruvic transaminase(GPT), total protein, albumin, globin, albumin/ globin, urea nitrogen of the grass carp of tow sizes were found no significant effects(p>0.05),butGOT, GPT, creatinine, uric acid, serum glucose of the fingerling grass carp were significantly (p<0.05).there are different adaption of the rapeseed meal with the grass crap of tow sizes.3. Diets supplementation with different rapeseed meal on serum triiodo-thyronine(T3) and triiodo-thyronine(T3)/thyroxine(T4) no significant effects were observed (p>0.05)in juvenile grass carp ,but T4 and Ts+T4 levels were significantly lower than the control(p<0.05).That is to say toxins in rapeseed meal have inhibit thyroxine(T4) secretion.4. Diets supplementation with different rapeseed meal on body moisture, crude protein, crude lipid, crude ash,and muscle amino acid contentation of the juvenile no significant effects were observed in grass carp of tow sizes (p>0.05),but the juvenile grass carp muscle moisture significantly declines, crude protein and lipid significantly rise(p<0.05).5. Effects of the juvenile grass carp on moisture and crude lipid of the liver no significanteffects were observed(p>0.05),but hepatosomatic index significantly higher, thehighest is 30.0%rapeseed meal.Liver cell volume enlarging, nucleolus condense or collapse, bounds of cells were obscured.6. Glucosinolate, isothiocyanate and oxazolidine thione contentation of the fingerling grass carp muscle were highest in 40.0% rapeseed meal level, respectively 0.14%,0.85mg/g and 0.0032mg/g; oxazolidine thione contentation of the liver highest in 20.0% rapeseed meal level is 0.012mg/g,lowest in 30.0% is 0.0018mg/g. In general, rapeseed meal contentation in diet of the grass carp is lower 30% in our test.
