Bursaphelenchus xylophilus harms pine severely and its invasion poses destructive influence upon the pine ecological system. In this paper, we selected Fuyang and Zhoushan, Zhejiang province of China as the studying areas to detect the changes of ecological patterns of Pinus massoniana after invasion by Bursaphelenchus xylophilus, which was the key scientific problems of pest invation researches. In order to probe into the key techniniques of pest invasion dynamic monitoring, quantitative ecology theory was integrated with 3S (Remote Sensing, Geographic Information System, and Global Positioning System). As a result, an information extraction model of Pinus massoniana was developed, and a new ecological spational pattern dynamics model was built. Firstly, 5 Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) images of recent 10 years were pre-processed and classified using the method based on the knowledge. Secondly Based on the ecological pattern model, we got the specie ecological patterns and landscape indices of infested pines and health pines. By analysis of the pines landscape indices, we found that all the patterns followed the contagious distribution, however, the intensity was growing, which indicated the growing degree of invasion. And the expand index grow rapidly in the beginning, while the increasing rate decreases which shows the diffuse way of Bursaphelenchus xylophilus exists the continuum and uncontinuum. These models can provide a technical methods for pest invasion dynamic monitoring. Also,.the studying results can provide scientific basis for decision-making of prevention and cure of Bursaphelenchus xylophilus.
