| According to the information that were got by investigating the current situation of Xilamuren grassland, this text has analyzing the degradation mechanism on the ecologic characteristic of the vegetation firstly; on the other hand, this text has setting a rational evaluation index system also by combining with the study of grassland degradation that from the scholar in the world and the historical material provided by interrelated department. This study evaluates the current situation of Xilamuren grassland through combining the cluster's analysis result of the data got from filed observation by using SPSS software with the evaluation index system. The results follow as: (1) the Xilamuren grassland is in the state of degradation wholly; (2) its degradation is mainly as middle-grade. In the end, this study definite the mainly result that is excessive grazing and develop tour resource unreasonable by analyzing the current situation and different manage ways of Xilamuren grassland. It also provides theoretical directions for the further perspective planning of Xilamuren grassland's development.
