The main agronomic characteristics and isozyme zymograms at different developing stages of several hybrids between sorghum and sudangrass were analyzed. The results showed that: the growing periods of Sorghum bicolor × Sorghum sudanense cv. Mengnong Qingsi No.1, Mengnong Qingsi No.2 and Mengnong Qingsi No.3 were 143d, 137d and 149d respectively, and 15~22d longer than its male parents including black hull sudangrass and white hull sudangrass, the plant heights were 355cm, 353cm and 389cm respectively, the ratio of stems to leaves was from 3.01 to 3.15, the nutrition value of the forage crop was higher, the tiller numbers of per plant were 6~8, the regeneration ability were stronger, could be cut 3 times a year, the yield of fresh forage and seed was higher, ranging from 134486.55 to 138976.82 kg/hm2 and from 6054.30 to 5814.75 kg/hm2 respectively; the growing period of Jiabao pacetter was 140d. Jump pacetter and Leshi pacetter could not bloom and seed in the climate conditions in Hohhot, the growth at earlier stage was slower, faster at later stage, the plant height range were 312~323cm, the ratioes of stems to leaves were 3.42~3.85, the nutrition value of the forage crop was higher, the tiller numbers of per plant were 2~4, the regeneration ability was general, could be cut 2 times a year, the fresh forage yield was 123622.50~126016.10 kg/hm2. The order of photosynthesis capability of tested plants was Mengnong Qingsi No.3>Mengnong Qingsi No.1=Mengnong Qingsi No.2= Jiabao pacetter>Black hull sudangrass=White hull sudangrass>Jump pacetter; the order of drought resistance ability at seeding stage was Mengnong Qingsi No.2=White hull sudangrass=Leshi pacetter>Mengnong Qingsi No.1=Black hull sudangrass>Jiabao pacetter>Jump pacetter>Mengnong Qingsi No.3; the order of salt tolerance ability was Mengnong Qingsi No.2=White hull sudangrass=Jiabao pacetter>Mengnong Qingsi No.1=Black hull sudangrass= Jump pacetter=Leshi pacetter>Mengnong Qingsi No.3. The differences in POD and SOD isozymes zymograms phenotypes at same and different developing stages of the tested plants can be used as genetic marker in protein level.
