The Chinese cabbage is the characteristic vegetable which is liked by the consumer of our country. The primary goal of this reaerch is to accelerate the breeding, enrich the variety and promote the production of the spring Chinese cabbage in the method of selection of new varieties which are bolting, fertility and high quality by studying the character of Chinese cabbage sown in spring canThrough the study on the relationship of winterness between the parents and hybridized combination of Chinese cabbage, we advanced to describe the winterness of spring Chinese cabbage as the height of newel divided by the width of newel and the winterness genetic rule of Chinese cabbage is as follows: winterness>medi-winterness>strong winterness. The number of leaves of heading Chinese cabbage correlated positively to the winterness.San yuan Chunhuang is a F1 hybrid developed by crossing self-incompatible line 90-2 and 90-7, which were selected from Chinese Cabbage varieties introduced from Tianjin and Beijing. It had been approved and released after executing the procedure of variety test, regional experiment of Shandong Province and production test and identified by the Crop Variety Committee of Shandong Province.San yuan Chunhuang is early maturing with growth period of 6065 days. Its average yield is 6090 t/hm2, 16.11%-16.68% higher than that of the control variety Luchunbai No. 1 .This variety is resistant to virus and downy mildew, and the disease index of virus and downy mildew were lower 76.3% and 39.2% than that of control respectively. The leaf head of the variety is crispy and good quality. The content of Vc is 73.6% higher than that of control. Crude fiber and total acid were lower 21.2% and 36.6% than that of control respectively. The weight per head is 22.5kg, 15.8% more than control of Luchunbai No. 1. This variety is a new spring Chinese cabbage which is erect and close and 49cm high, head with ellipsosome.The culture technical regulation of the sanyuan chunhuang was established by the study. This kind of variety was ex-tended about 3000hm2 in Shandong, Henan, Shanxi, Xinjiang, Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan andNeimenggu and got preferable economic and social benefits.
