In this experiment, 3 cucumber varieties(Cucumis sativusL.) Jinyou1,Shannong 6 and Xintaimici as scions were grafted on figleaf gourd(Cucurbita ficifolia)and Sintozwa(Cucurbita maxima ×C.moschata) asrootstocks. The dynamic development and quality of grafted cucumber fruitswith different rootstocks and own cucumber fruits were studied in theexperiment。We will find the effect of graft on the quality of cucumber fruits,then we provide the theories and technic for controlling and improving thequality of grafted cucumber fruits. The main results were as follow:1. Nutrimental substance contents(vitamin c,soluble sugar and freeamino acids)of grafted cucumber fruits were less than those of own rootcucumber fruits with the same days after flowering at north greenhouse inspring,however they both follow certain variation pattern. Some indexes ofquality such as L/D index,The vitamin c ,soluble sugar and free amino acidswere the best at the ninth days after flowering,then the times were moreappropriate picking days for cucumber fruits at north greenhouse in spring。2.Comparing the grafted cucumber fruit with their own root cucumberfruits, the cross section,single fruit weight and footstalk length/cross sectionall enhanced, while the vertical diameter and L/D index decreased; The waterand firmness had no obvious distinctness; The nitrate , tannin and titrable acidcontents all remarkably increased;Soluble sugar, Vc, amino acid contents andthe all distinctly reduced;but the nitrate and NR activity negatively correlated;Ca, Mg, Fe and Zn contents of grafted cucumber fruits added except thegrafted cucumber with figleaf gourd as rootstock and with Xintaimici asscions .There were consistent in initial fruits,midfruits stages and telophasefruits. Graft had effects on flavor quality of cucumber fruits, Glu,Asp andcucumber flavour character contents((Z,E)2,6-nonadienal and 2,6-nonadienol) all decreased.3.
