The Study On The Treatment Of Chinese Herbal Preparation To Infections Newcastle Disease In Chickens

To solve the question of residual chemical drugs in chicken meat as treatment of Newcastle Disease, Chinese herbal complex Xiao-Yi-Ling was used in the experiment to explore a new way to treat ND with Chinese herb.The preparation of Xiao-Yi-Ling was designed based on proved recipes and Chinese Medicine Theories. The method of water extraction was used to make Xiao-Yi-Ling mixture.Then every kind concentration of Chinese herbal medicine solution was mixed with equivalent diluted NDV. Then they were cultured for 72 hours. The results showed that: Xiao-Yi-Ling Ⅰ preparation could prevent the NDV growth at dilution titer of 10000 and the Xiao-Yi-Ling Ⅱ preparation could prevent the NDV growth at dilution titer of 1000000. Then the single Chinese herbal preparation, the Xiao-Yi-Ling Ⅰ preparation and Xiao-Yi-Ling Ⅱ preparation was decocted to 1g/ml. By means of punching method, the single Chinese herbal medicine and the Xiao-Yi-Ling Ⅰ preparation and Xiao-Yi-Ling Ⅱ preparation was inoculated into culture flask of ugar with three kinds of bacteria ( Eschericha coli , Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus) and was cultured for 24 hours. The result indicated that the diameter of antibacterial activities of the preparation Ⅰ was from 10mm to 20mm, the preparation Ⅱ from 16mm to 26mm. It indicated that Chinese herbal preparation have advantage in preventing the bacteria growth. So Xiao-Yi-Ling preparation can be used in clinic.21-days healthy chickens (n=300) were divided into 6 groups (n=50, respectively) randomly. And the experiment was conducted as follows: the 6 groups were divided into 4 test groups which were infected with NDV and fed with Xiao-Yi-Ling preparation in the meantime, the control groups were notfed with preparation. The preparation was fed twice one day. Then the clinical signs and death index were mainly recorded everyday. Simultaneously the biochemical indexes of blood were measured in assigned time, including serum totalprotein, serum globulin and albumin. The index of immune organs and antibody titer against NDV were also measured. The results showed that: Xiao-Yi-Ling preparation could increase the immune function of chickens and the indexes of immune organs and the biochemical indexes of blood. On the 7th day, the antibody titer of chickens in the test groups reached the maximum(25 6), higher than the control groups'(p < 0.05); On the 15th day, the antibody titer of chickens in the test groups chickens reached its maximum(29 °), sharply higher than the control groups'(p < 0.05). The content of serum totalprotein of chickens in the test groups reached the aximum(39.5 ±3.36g/l); the content of globul chickens in the test groups reached its maximum(27.6 ± 1.01g/l) on the 15th day. So the test groups fed with Xiao-Yi-Ling preparation could promote immune function of body and antivirus activities.
