There were three nourishing liquid levels setted up as water, 1/2 of the nourishing liquid and whole nourishing liquid to culture Aglaonema modestum. Compared with soil culture, the changes of the shape index, physiological index, and physical characteristics of Aglaonema modestum by nourishing liquid culture are studied in this paper. The result shows:1 changes of the shape indexCompared with this three kinds of different liquid cultivation conditions, the growing condition of root, older leaf and new leaf of Aglaonema modestum have a remarkable difference. The growing conditions cultivated at whole nourishing liquid are remarkably superior to cultivate at water and 1/2 nourishing liquid. The diameter of root dealt with these three culture conditions have a remarkable difference (P<0.05), and the highness of inserted place of new leaf have the best remarkable difference (P<0.01), too.The length and quality of leaf have a remarkable difference(P<0.05) between the culture conditions of whole nourishing liquid and 1/2 nourishing liquid. In addition, the date of the root emergenced in the next year at whole nourishing liquid cultivation condition was 7 days ahead of time than 1/2 nourishing liquid culture, and 12 days ahead of time than water culture. The date of new leaf burgeoned cultured at whole nourishing liquid was 5 days ahead of time than 1/2 nourishing liquid culture, and 20 days ahead of time than water culture.2 Change of physical characteristicsThere have a similar variation tendency of the photosynthesis change in a day between three liquid culture and soil culture, all of the change in a day of the Pn (photosynthesis ratio), the pore currency and the transpiration rate have double peat values, which appeared at 10:00 AM and 14:00 PM. Among four kinds of different liquidcultivation conditions, the index values are the lowest by water culture, the max values appeared at whole nourishing liquid culture, there are similar index values between 1/2 nourishing liquid culture and soil culture.The contents of chla (chlorophyll a), chlb, totle chl and the value of chla/chlb in leaf of Aglaonema modestum by water culture are remarkably lower than other cultivation conditions, but there are unremarkable difference among whole nourishing liquid culture, 1/2 nourishing liquid culture and soil culture. 3 Change of the other physiological characteristicThree kinds of liquid cultures have a remarkable higher values than soil culture contrast with the water content of leaf and the water content of plant. There are apparent differences of soluble sugar rates of water culture and earth culture; There are remarkable differences of soluble sugar rates of water culture\ 1/2 nourishing liquid culture and earth culture. The change tendency of soluble protein is similar to that of soluble sugar. The amount in three kinds of liquid cultures Aglaonema modestum is higher than it in earth culture, The amount of soluble protein in three kinds of liquid cultures Aglaonema modestum are quite different from earth culture ones. The conduction rates in whole nourishing liquid culture and earth culture are similar, no evident different exactly. Otherwise, there are more differences both between water culture, 1/2 nourishing liquid culture and whole nourishing liquid culture. There are also apparent differences of Malondialdehyde between three kinds of liquid cultures and earth culture.
