This study investigated the effects of iron-amino acid complex together with inorganic iron on the growth performance, skin, and blood indexes of weaned piglets (28 d of age), the study included two experiments. Experiment 1 studied the differences of iron-amino acid complex and inorganic iron on the performance, skin, and blood indexes of weaned piglets mostly. Experiment 2 studied that when inorganic iron had satisfied the weaned piglets, the effects of the iron-amino acid complex on the growth performance, skin, and blood indexes of piglets mostly.Experiment 1: 92 piglets (D×L×Y, 28 d of age) were distributed randomly into 5 treatments, the treatment 1-4 had 5 replications each , 4 piglets per replication, the treatment 5 had 4 replications, 3 piglets per replication. The diets of treatment 1-5 were added FeSO4+iron-amino acid complex (unit: mg/kg)respectively: 0 + 0, 100 + 0, 220 + 0,100 + 120 , 0 + 100. The blood indexes measured included Hg, Hct, RBC in blood, and Fe, Cu, Zn, Urea, Glu in serum. The results indicated: 1 , The 100mg/kg inorganic iron in the diets can keep the normal growth performanceand fit physiological states of weaned piglets, the Hg, Hct, and RBC all werenormal. 2, Tron-amino acid complex can improve the growth performance of weaned piglets.Comparing with 100mg/kg inorganic iron, the iron-amino acid complex of the sameamount increased the ADG of 1-5 week (8.7%) , decreased the F/G of 1-5 week (7.73%)very significantly, decreased the diarrhea ratio(16.7%), did not influencethe blood indexes significantly. 3 , The effects of using inorganic iron together with iron-amino acid complex werebetter than using inorganic iron only, the ADG of 1-5 week increased (8.9%) , theF/G decreased significantly(6.16%), and the diarrhea ratio decreased very significantly (64.80%), but the blood indexes had no significant differences in 5 treatments.4> The 120mg/kg iron-amino acid complex in the diets that already contained lOOmg/kg inorganic iron can increased the growth performance still, the ADG increased(6.4%), the F/G decreased significantly(4.3%), and the diarrhea ratio decreased(36.7%), but the blood indexes had no significant differences in 5 treatments.5 ?, The iron-amino acid complex can increased the scores of skin in the 5 week very significantly.Experiment 2: 100 piglets (DxLxY, 28 d of age ) were distributed randomly into 5 treatments, 5 replications per treatment, 4 piglets per replication. The diet of treatment 1 contained FeSC>4 100 mg/kg, the diets of treatment 2-5 were respectively added iron-amino acid complex 30, 60, 90, 120mg/kg on the basis of the diet of treatment 1. All the indexes were same as that in experiment 1. The results indicated:1 n The iron-amino acid complex can increase the growth performance still when inorganic iron had content the need of piglets. At each phase the ADGs of the treatment 25 were all more than the ADG of the treatment 1, the F/Gs were less. Especially the ADGs ofl-3 week, 1-4 week, and 1-5 week increased significantly, and the F/Gs decreased significantly.2^ The best dose of iron-amino acid complex on the growth performance was 7273mg/kg.3^he iron-amino acid complex can improve the impressions of piglet' skin, the effect was enhanced as the dose increased within 30120mg/kg.4^ When the inorganic iron had satisfied the weaned piglets, the 30120mg/kg iron-amino acid complex did not influence the blood indexes significantly, which kept the normal state of blood.
