The study on interplant of corn and potato is carried on in the dyrland of Lixian from 2002 to 2003. The experiment design was a random plot which included four treatment: single-planting corn , single-planting potato,plant both corn and potato according to different ratio-2:4 and 4:4(Proportion of rows of corn and potato ), to research the change of yield and the impact of soil water in four different treatments. The result showed that:(1)In year of rich rainfall, the treatment of 2:4(Proportion of rows of corn and potato) has obvious effect of increase production in dyrland of Lixian. The yield of corn reach to 11986.14kg/hm2,it is increased by 33%,5% than the treatment of 4:4(Proportion of rows of corn and potato) and single-planting corn. The yield of photo reach to 23226.14kg/hm2, it is increased by 15%,2% than the treatment of 4:4(Proportion of rows of corn and potato) and single-planting photo.(2)The rule of water consumption of crop is consist approximately, the amount of water consumption is little in the young period and in the late period crop, the amount of water consumption is better in the middle period crop than in the young period crop and in the late period crop. However, in the effect of different time and space and different rainfall, the year of rich rainfall. The treatment of 2:4(Proportion of rows of corn and potato) has the highest water content use effectiveness and water content productive effectiveness, water content use effectiveness of the treatment of 2:4(Proportion of rows of corn and potato) is increased by 6%,3%, water content productive effectiveness is increased by 33%,7% than the treatment of 4:4(Proportion of rows of corn and potato) and single-planting corn. The year of common , single-planting photo has the highest water content use effectiveness and water content productive effectiveness, water content use effectiveness is increased by 1.0%,0.9%, water content productive effectiveness is increased by 4%,5% than the treatment of 4:4(Proportion of rows of corn and potato) and the treatment of 4:4(Proportion of rows of corn and potato).(3)In the condition of rich water, the yield of corn and the benefit of corn is low in the dyrland of Lixian Jinxi. Interplant of corn and potato is effected by consumption of soil water and rainfall, form different yield, different water content use effectiveness and water content productive effectiveness. The treatment of 2:4(Proportion of rows of corn and potato) is the highest in the aspect of yield (corn and potato) and water content use effectiveness and water content productive effectiveness. In the year of common, single-planting corn and single-planting potato is better, especially the yield of single-planting potato is the highest than other three treatment.
