In this research, four experiments were conducted to determine the effects of EA on lipid metabolism in broilers. Furthermore, some parameter was examined to discuss the mechanism of EA affecting lipid metabolism.120 Abore Acre femal broiler chickens with 0—7 weeks-old were raised which were divided randomly into 4 groups with 3 replicates and every replicates were 10 chickens. Group 1 (0mg/kg EA) was the comparison group and group2, group3, group4 were adiministrated 100mg/kg, 300mg/kg, 500mg/kg EA separately. The results showed that EA could enhance the growth and reduce the feed gain ratio. EA could decrease the deposit of lipid and minish the thickness of subcutaneous adipose, but had no significant effect on thickness of subcutaneous adipose. The effect of the 300mg/kg and 500mg/kg EA were better than 100mg/kg EA.The result showed that TC, TG, LDL-C had the different degree reduction, and increased the level of HDL-C. Hence EA could reduce blood fat and improve lipid deposit. This perhaps because the saponins and flavonoids ingredient of EA reacted. The level of T4 in blood was incresased significantly with 500mg/kg EA at 28 and 42 days-old. The treatment groups had the trend to reduce the level of insulin at the whole experiment period, and there were significant levels between 28 — 42 days-old. 100mg/kg EA had no significant effect on level of insulin. 500mg/kg EA could obviously affect on the active of LPL, and reached the significant level between 28—42 days-old. 300mg/kg EA also reached the significant level at 28 and 35 days-old. This suggested that only the suitable concentration of EA could beneficially regulate the lipid mechanism. The result showed that EA had significant effect on level of some gene mRNA. 500mg/kg EA compared with 0mg/kg and 100mg/kg EA that level of FAS mRNA in liver and adipose tissue could be significantly reduced. 300mg/kg EA had the trend to reduce the level of FAS mRNA, but didn't reach the significant level. Each group had no significant effect on level of FAS mRNA in breast muscle. The change of the LPL mRNA level in different tissue had the tissue peculiar character. 500mg/kg EA significantly reduceed the level of LPL mRNA in abdominal fat and significantly increased the level of LPL mRNA in breast muscle. The level of LPL mRNA in breast muscle was significantly increased by 300mg/kg EA, perhaps due to the little expression amount of LPL mRNA in liver tissue. Treatment group compared with comparison group that the level of LPL mRNA in liver tissue had on significant difference. The level of UCP mRNA in breast muscle was significantly increased by 500mg/kg EA, and the other two treatment groups had no significant effect.
