The polymorphisms of porcine myostatin gene(MSTN) and MADs Domain Transcription Enhancer Factor 2D gene(MEF2D) in 126 pigs including Yanan pig,Changya pig,Wujin pig, Dawu pig, Zang pig. and Durocx(LandracexYorkshire)(DLY) pig were detected by PCR-RFLP test with four different pairs of primers. Base on the polymorphism detection, the influence of MSTN genotype and MEF2D genotype on carcass and meat quality traits were analyzed.Dral locu in the promoter region of MSTN gene: A allele is the dominant allele exists in Chinese native breeds. Genetic effect analyze showed that for carcass traits, individuals with allele a in DraI locus has higher lean meat percentage, loin eye area and lower back fat thickness. But for meat quality allele a can significantly decrease intramuscle fat and meat color, increase drop loss.ApaI locu in the third exon of MSTN gene: On this locu only two genotype were found, individuals with genotype Bb has higher lean meat percentage, loin eye area and lower back fat thickness, but their meat quality traits were worse than individuals with genotype BB.TaqI locu in the third exon of MSTN gene: There is no polymorphisms on this site were detect. The frequency of D allele is 1.AciI locu in the fourth intro of MSTN gene: h allele is the dominant allele in DLY pig, Wujin pig and Dawu pig. The results of Genetic effect analyze showed that for carcass traits, individuals with allele h have higher lean meat percentage, bigger loin eye area and less back fat thickness, but for meat quality traits allele h can significantly decrease and meat color, increase drop loss.
