The changes of the contents of several important materials and effect of transgenic Bt rice on the biological behavior of Chilo suppressalis are studied systemically using transgenic Bt rice Shanyou63, expressing a Bt fusion protein derived from crylAb/crylAc sequences, Shanyou63 without crylAb/crylAc gene as the control varieties. At the same time the effect of transgenic Bt rice on population dynamic in the field in different plant ways are studied.The results showed that the contents of most amino acids in stems and leaves of Shanyou63/Bt and Shanyou63/CK had significant or highly significant difference in heading stage. In most growth stages, the contents of N, P and Si in two rice lines had significant or highly significant difference, but their change trends were basically accordant: the contents of N and P were gradually descendent after stem-drawing stage, while the contents of Si were gradually increased with the growth of rice; in the former growth stages, the water-solubility sugar and reducing sugar contents of Shanyou63/Bt were lower than those of Shanyou63/CK, while they are higher than those of Shanyou63/CK in late growth stages, both of them had significant or highly significant difference.The results also indicated that Chilo suppressalis egg numbers in Shanyou63/Bt and Shanyou 63/CK had no significant difference, and which showed transgenic Bt rice have no effect on the oviposition of Chilo suppressalis. The invading ratio of Chilo suppressalis in Shanyou63/Bt and Shanyou63/CK had no significant difference, and which showed that transgenic Bt rice have on effect on invading ratio of Chilo suppressalis larvae. The smell choosing of Chilo suppressalis larvae have no significant difference, and it showed that transgenic Bt rice have no effect on smell choosing of Chilo suppressalis larvae. 1st instar and 3rd instar Chilo suppressalis larvae have very high mortality after they feed on transgenic Bt rice, and this showed transgenic Bt rice has high resistance to Chilo suppressalis larvae. In a word, it was the most important cause of resistance of transgenic Bt rice to Chilo suppressalis that Bt toxin protein can kill most of Chilo suppressalis larvae. Transgenic Bt rice have no significant effect on other biologic behaviors.Transgenic Bt rice has high resistance to Chilo suppressalis,Sciropophaga incertulas and Cnaphalocrocis medinalis in fields. In intermixed cropping pattern the harm of Chilo suppressalis, Sciropophaga incertulas and Cnaphalocrocis medinalis in transgenic Bt rice was higher than in unitary cropping pattern, while their harm in Shanyou63/CK were lower in intermixed cropping pattern than in unitary cropping pattern, this was caused by mutual effect of Shanyou63/CK and Shanyou63/Bt. The resistance of transgenic Bt rice to Chilo suppressalis and Cnaphalocrocis medinalis have no significant difference, and as was non-Bt rice. The population dynamic of Delphadiea spp., thrips and spiders in Shanyou63/Bt and Shanyou63/Ck in different cropping pattern, and their number changes have no significant difference. Transgenic Bt rice have no significant effect on target pests and natural enemies in 1/5 and 1/10 plant ways, considering economical factor non-Bt Rice can be planted in 1/10 area when transgenic Bt Rice are planted commercially.
