2-pyrimidinyloxy-N-arylbenzylamine derivatives is one kind of novel herbicide precursor compound, which created by China patent. ZJ0273 is a new herbicide developed by this compound. At present, only a little report about mechanism of action of ZJ0273 were founded in home and abroad. Reseaching mechanism of action of ZJ0273 can use ZJ0273 in science,safety,and reason, also help to know the same kind of compound and provide theory supervision to explore other novel herbicides.In this paper, we studied the disciplinarian of absorption, translocation in plants , detoxifcation action by adding branched-chain amino acids, effect activity of ALS, cellular morphology and mitosis of root tips, leaf cells ultrastructure after treated by ZJ0273. The main results as follows:1. Absorption,translocation and distribution of 14C- ZJ0273 in vivo Brassica campestris and Malachium aquaticum . After 8 days, the absorption of 14C- ZJ0273 went to saturation in two kinds of plants;After 14 days,in signed leaves the absorption of 14C-ZJ0273 were 75.6% and 76.3% respectively, the other were translocated to rest configuration organs.2. Detoxifcation action by adding three branched-chain amino acids-Val, Ile and Leu on Malachium aquaticum treated by ZJ0273. The results indicated that the addtion 10mM/L of three branched-chain amino acids together completely alleviated herbicide-induced stem growth inhibition.However addition each of branched-chain amino acids was only partly effective in reversing ZJ0273-induced growth inhibition. With the increasing of branched-chain amino acids concentrations, the reverse effect was increasing. And Ile was the most effective one, Val secondly, Leu was the worst. The reverse of adding two of three branched-chain amino acids were better than single and the resualts liked the same. The combination of Val and Ile were most effective, followed by Val and Leu, Ile and Leu were the worst.3. Activity of ALS as influenced by ZJ0273 was studied in vitro and in vivo using six plants. The results indicated that ALS affected by ZJ0273 was far lower than bispyribac-sodium(belongs to pyrimidine salicylic acid herbicides) in vitro. ALS wasgreatly inhibited by ZJ0273 in vivo, and the activity of ALS was lowered when treated time increasing. So it was concluded that ZJ0273 acted as an ALS inhibitor. However, the mechanism of action of ZJ0273 differs from the other typically commercial ALS inhibitors, such as pyrimidine salicylic acid herbicides.4. The effect of ZJ0273 on meristematic zone cells and mitosis of onion root tips was studied. The results showed that the mitotic index of root tips was decreased under the treatment by ZJ0273, and mitosis cells stagnated at the interphase. Study on the leaf cells ultrastructure of Malachium aquaticum after treated by ZJ0273 indicated the number of membrane of chloroplasts decreased, chloroplasts membrane disappeared and the structure was destroyed heavily.
